Pankhuri Awasthy was born on March 31, 1991 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh., in a hinduism family. During her childhood, her family moved to Delhi. She joined Hyacinth International School in Delhi. She received her BA (English Honors) from Hindu College, Delhi. Pankhuri has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities at school. She is a member of the University Drama Society.

Pankhuri Awasthy started her acting career with the sitcom Yeh Hai Aashiqui. She then appeared in another episode of MTV Fanaah Season 2. She was appreciated for playing the lead role of Razia Sultan in Razia Sultan.
