Paoli Dam made her screen debut with the Bengali TV series Jibon Niye Khela (1999), which aired on Zee Bangla. She received great appreciation from the audience for her villainous role in the TV series Tithir Atithi, which aired on ETV Bangla (now Colors Bangla). In 2016, she played Sucharita Sen (a well-known veteran actress) in the TV series Mahanayak, which aired on Star Jalsha.
She has acted in many Bengali television serials including Tara TV’s Tarpor Chand Uthlo, ETV Bangla’s Sonar Harin and Tara TV’s Scandal.

She rose to fame playing the role of Madhabilata in the film Kaalbela (2009). Apart from acting, she also served as a voiceover singer for the film. In 2010, she played the role of Komli in the biographical musical film Moner Manush starring Prosenjit Chatterjee.
