While preparing for UPSC, she passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) examination and received a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the field of Political Science. In 2019, she passed the UPSC exam and secured 30th all-India rank. This is her third attempt. She was appointed as SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) of Gangtok, Sikkim.
