Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Reveal Team Mahomes Athletes and Visit New Texas Tech Areas That Will Be Named After Him

Patrick Mahomes is making an impact at his alma mater.

On Friday, Aug. 23, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, joined by his wife Brittany Mahomes, visited Texas Tech University and toured the athletic department’s new facilities — made possible in part by a generous gift from Patrick and Brittany, both 28.

Patrick shared a video on Instagram showing moments from their visit, which included a tour of the facilities and meeting the student-athletes who are part of Team Mahomes NIL’s inaugural class.

The couple donated $5 million to the $242 million South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project. The facility’s passing area will be named after him, along with the university’s quarterback meeting room and offensive coordinator’s office.

During his visit, he also announced the signing of six NIL student-athletes to Adidas for Patrick’s aptly named Team Mahomes initiative.

Adidas and Texas Tech previously announced a partnership in July, making the sports brand the university’s official partner for uniforms, footwear, apparel and accessories.
