Patrick Peterson has been married to his wife, Dr. Antonique Peterson, since 2012. They have two children, Paityn, a girl, and Parker, a boy. Since Peterson’s wife is a doctor, she was on the front lines when the COVID-19 outbreak broke out. She started by working twelve-hour shifts six days a week, treating a small number of COVID-19 patients who were only minimally affected. In May 2020, she was admitted to intensive care for the treatment of seriously ill patients, where she saw firsthand the dangers of the pandemic.
During the pandemic, Patrick Peterson’s wife worked tirelessly.
Antonique was not only a doctor but also a mother of two small children when she came home from work. She managed to balance parenthood and work. “It’s impressive for her to be able to handle all of that,” Peterson told the Arizona Cardinals’ official website on May 29, 2020. However, the NFL star said his partner’s workplace woes have put his family through “very , a very difficult moment.”

After returning from work at a nearby hospital, his wife had to be extra careful, taking all the necessary steps. Peterson supported his wife’s work and made appropriate preparations for her proper disinfection. After she got home from work, she would walk through the garage and yard to the boarding house and take a shower. She was also given a mini cabinet where she could store her medical clothes. According to Peterson, his wife taught their daughter, Paityn, about the seriousness of the problem. She also made sure her diabetic husband took all the necessary steps to prevent him from getting an infection.
Patrick Peterson described his wife as a hero.
On March 31, 2020, the soccer star shared a photo of his wife on Instagram in honor of National Doctors Day. In the caption, he thanked her for her heroic work during the epidemic. “Not all heroes wear capes,” he began his lengthy entry, adding, “Mine wears a white coat.”
Peterson then noted how doctors around the world are on the front lines, helping everyone fight the epidemic. Near the end of his book, Peterson asked everyone to do their part to protect “our doctors” and those who work in hospitals and medical facilities. During an interview with ESPN in June 2020, he made similar comments. He explained how non-observance of rules and hygiene will affect all the housemates.

In his own words, dealing with infection required caution and sanitation. Peterson also noted how his family members made sure everyone in their home was protected. According to his claims, the Peterson family followed social distancing norms, regularly cleaned surfaces and washed their hands as often as possible. Similarly, his wife took the cautious precaution of quarantining her patients at the family guesthouse until they tested negative for COVID-19. At the end of the conversation, Peterson expressed optimism that the health crisis will soon “roll over” and allow everyone to return to their normal lives.
