The legend contributed to two iconic albums with Iron Maiden: 1980’s self-titled Iron Maiden and 1981’s Killers.

However, he was kicked out of the band, making way for Bruce Dickinson, the current longtime singer.

After Iron Maiden, Di’Anno fronted various bands such as the Killers and Battlezone, while also releasing solo albums.

A statement from Di’Anno’s label read: “On behalf of his family, Conquest Music is saddened to confirm the passing of Paul Andrews, known professionally as Paul Di’Anno.

“Paul died at his home in Salisbury at the age of 66.

“Born in Chingford, East London on 17 May 1958, Paul first rose to fame as the lead singer of the English Heavy Metal band, Iron Maiden, between 1978 and 1981.

“He sang on their groundbreaking debut album Iron Maiden and their influential follow-up, Killers.

“Since leaving Iron Maiden, Paul Di’Anno has had a long and prolific recording career with Battlezone and the Killers, as well as numerous solo releases and guest appearances.

“Despite serious health problems in recent years that have forced him to perform in a wheelchair, Paul has continued to entertain his fans around the world, performing more than 100 shows since 2023.
