Kim’s Convenience star Paul Sun-Hyung Lee has been married to his wife Anna for almost two decades. Lee and Anna discussed their relationship and revealed the key to their happy marriage. In an interview with Streets of Toronto in 2017, the actor and his wife described how they met and fell in love. Anna claimed that they initially met through a common friend/couple.
“Paul was out in the pub with a drunken friend. I went out with some college friends. “Paul called our mutual acquaintances to ask them what they were planning for the evening,” she said.
“In the meantime, I almost didn’t go to the pub with them, but in the end I did… We met, laughed at each other, exchanged phone numbers, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Lee and his wife also discussed their first official date. Anna said the date took them all over Toronto. They dined at Hot Tomato and drank at Živo zdenac. The two then went to Havana Blues, a martini and cigar bar. “There was a lot of walking, chatting and laughing,” she claimed of Lee bringing back the latest Tom Waits CD from a visit to the record store. Anna claimed Lee exposed her to widescreen movies, games like Golden Eye and science fiction as they grew closer. “I had a great time watching movies and playing video games on my little TV in my basement flat in Kensington Market.”
Family and marriage
Lee and his wife were married on December 31, 1999, just hours before the year 2000 began. Since Anna was “sick as a dog”, the actor admits that the proposal was not as romantic as he had hoped. Lee and Anna were married on August 25, 2001 in Toronto, a year and a half after the proposal. They spent their honeymoon in Orlando, Florida.
Since then, the couple has had two boys, Noah and Miles. Speaking to CBC about his family, Lee said his eldest son Noah looks like him. “My oldest Noah loves all things nerdy, like Star Wars, which is wonderful,” he said. “He’s like my mini-me, and I guess that’s why we bump into each other so often because we’re so similar.” Miles, Lee’s youngest child, was so “no [him]” since he was so robust and athletically built. He also mentioned Miles’ geeky interests, which include stop motion animation and sketching.
Although Lee believes that Miles is different from him, the two continue to share their interests. The Kim’s Convenience actor recently took to Instagram to post photos of himself and his youngest child having fun browsing the Toys”R” Us Canada catalog.
