Paul Washer Met His Wife As A Missionary

Paul Washer is the husband of Charo Washer. His wife had worked as a missionary for 12 years but did not consider herself a Christian. She ultimately expressed her sentiments to Paul, and she feels God helped open her eyes as a result. Charo Washer, Paul Washer’s wife, felt empty even after working as a missionary for more than a decade. It all changed when she understood that performing nice things out of obligation rather than passion wasn’t being a Christian. Even after observing these things, Paul remained patient as he awaited his wife’s confession and assisted her in getting along with God in his manner.

Charo believes that God has saved her.

Even after 12 years as a missionary, the wife of an American preacher felt hollow. All of the nice actions she did were merely ticks on a list, and there was no passion in what she did. She grew up in a home where she was taught the difference between good and wrong, and she hadn’t done anything wrong in the eyes of the world. But everything she did was motivated by a feeling of responsibility and discipline. Charo said she was not a Christian since she lacked the desire or heart to read the Bible.

Charo was usually at Paul’s side while he delivered sermons and preached in churches. She told her husband she wasn’t a real Christian, so the evangelist took her through the gospel and evidence-based literature. He guided her through 1 John, the first Johannine epistle of the New Testament and the fourth catholic letter, and made her understand there is no middle ground. She commended God in her testimony for rescuing her while she felt helpless. She was grateful to God for teaching her to follow him with all her being, which lightened her load.

Paul met his wife while serving as a missionary.

Paul worked as a missionary in Peru, where he met his wife Charo, who was also a street kid preacher. They were dispatched into battle, where they went days without showering and trekked through the woods. Paul told students how he met and fell for his wife during a Q&A session. I met my wife when she was young, and we ministered to street kids during the war, when bombs were dropping and you’d come back with lice in your hair. She was devoted to the Lord. Her parents were opposed to her becoming a Christian, so she took a stand without being disobedient. I fell in love with her because she was a committed person, and I truly fell in love with that.

Marrying Charo Was God’s Will

When Paul went to ask his wife’s father for marriage, he was turned down. He was 31 years old, a Christian, and a missionary. He said his father-in-law was not a Christian, so he declined the wedding proposal. On the other hand, the pastor thought that if God intended him to have her as a lover, He would overcome this impediment. He accepted God’s will and finally married her with the approval of his father-in-law. They have a family of six children, two boys and two girls, after 28 years of marriage. Paul founded HeartCry Missionary Society, where his wife volunteers in photography.
