Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy Share Their First Holiday Photos as Family of Four: ‘Someone Pinch Me’

Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy share a special moment for their family.

On Thursday, Dancing with the stars pros shared photos of their family vacation on Instagram, posing outside with their family of four. Murgatroyd, 37, smiles and holds their son Rio, 6 months, up by the arms, posing next to Chmerkovskiy, 43, who is holding Rio’s feet.

Behind the couple, son Shai, 6, puts his hand on both parents’ heads, smiling broadly.

Shai and Rio also posed for a special sibling photo, with Shai holding her little brother on her lap. Murgatroyd even included an adorable snap of herself with both of her boys, sitting in a tree.

“Happy holidays from our family to yours ❤️ When you look at us as a family of four, I feel good every time🥹 someone pinches me…” she wrote in her caption.

Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy ‘Really Thought’ Son Rio Was Going to Be a Girl: ‘House Full of Boys’ (Exclusive)

Just days after the birth of son Rio, the couple exclusively introduced the little one via PEOPLE and revealed his name. “We loved Rio, whom we came across at the last minute. It’s the perfect complement to our long last name!” Murgatroyd said at the time. “We also wanted to say something easy with Shai.”

The child’s middle name, John, is in honor of the Murgatroyds’ late father, Derek John, who died in December 2022.

In September, Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy spoke to PEOPLE exclusively about life as a newlywed family of four after welcoming son Rio in June.

“It’s been amazing,” Murgatroyd said of their transition to being a family of four. “I mean, so busy, sometimes chaotic, but amazing and beautiful. I just love this stage. I mean, it’s so precious. It’s so delicate and I can never get this stage back.”

“So I just lean towards being super present with my guys,” the professional dancer said. “We’re a house full of boys right now. We really thought he was a girl though. We really were.”

“We wanted it to be a girl,” Chmerkovskiy agreed as Murgatroyd added, “He’s our special boy.”

Later that fall, Murgatroyd talked about how supportive her husband was of taking care of their two sons while she competed. Dancing with the stars.

“At the moment, he is on dad’s duty full time,” said the mother of two children, with whom she worked The Brady Group actor Barry Williams. “He’s joking with Shai. So this is the first year I haven’t actually been there, but he’s doing a great job.”
