Phillip Schofield claims another TV presenter had a secret age-gap affair – but it hasn’t been exposed yet

PHILLIP Schofield has claimed another TV presenter had a secret affair because of their age difference – but it has yet to be exposed.

The former This Morning presenter, 62, has opened up about being ‘thrown under the bus’ by former ITV colleagues on Channel 5’s Cast Away.

During the second episode, which aired earlier this week, Phillip addressed the affair scandal that led to his exit from the show.

Addressing the camera, he said: “Shame, shame on Phillip Schofield who had an affair.

“Weirdly, I think one or two other TV presenters could do exactly the same thing. The difference is they’re straight.”

Phillip then insisted that age gap relationships were “not an uncommon thing in the gay world”.

The former host of Dancing on Ice suggested that the public would have reacted differently if his affair had been with a woman.

He continued: “If that was the case with me and it was a woman. Pat on the back. ‘Well done mate’.”

During the three-part documentary, which saw him survive alone on a desert island near Madagascar for ten days, Phillip blamed his downfall on three ITV leading men – branding them the “three pieces of shit” of showbiz.

Among those he appears to be targeting are his former This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby and This Morning editor Martin Frizell.

Phil appears to blame the latter for allowing him to take charge of “Queuegate”, when he and Holly are accused of jumping the queue to see the late Queen lie in honour.

Other targets could include ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall.

Phillip was forced to leave This Morning after 22 years following a relationship with a much younger man who worked as a presenter on the show.

Speaking about his 40-year TV career, he says: “They know how important it was to me.

“They know that when you throw someone under the bus, you have to have a very good reason for it. Brand, ambition is not good enough.”

He continues: “People can be fake. They can be so fake with you when everything is going well, and suddenly a complete, utter betrayal.

“There are a lot of amazing people on morning television.

“I think there are only three shits. One of them is a coward who has never stood in line.

“One is a coward because they never stepped in when they beat me, and the other is just brand oriented.

“Not what you expect, not what you think you’re going to get.”

Elsewhere in the three-parter, Phillip hints that the show is his showbiz swan song.

He says: “They took almost everything. Reputation, dignity, legacy, everything.

“I’m not bleating, I’m just getting off my chest. And anyone who’s outraged by that can honestly fuck off because I don’t care. I quit my job.”

In last night’s final episode, Phillip said he would never work in daytime TV again – and has no TV plans for the future.

The producer asked the star, “What’s next?”

Phil replied, “Nothing. Nothing. I’m happy with nothing.

“I have family and friends and a dog.

“This is my new happy place.”

He also said, “Look, I love television. I have television in my bones.

“But I won’t sit on the sofa anymore. I won’t do it again.

“There are some people I won’t work for anymore. Some people I won’t work with anymore.

“I was so hurt by that kind of television that you get to the point where you think ‘I don’t want to do it anymore’.”

Phil also revealed that he didn’t leave This Morning but was sacked by his bosses.
