HORRIFYING footage captured a military plane crashing into the sea during an air show in France.
The Fouga Magister jet was seen hovering above the ocean before plunging below the surface as stunned onlookers watched.

The pilot did not eject from the aircraft when the aircraft fell towards the sea – as the plane does not have an ejection seat, reports Le Figaro.
His body was later recovered from the water, near the coast of Lavandou, according to France Bleu.
The terrible accident happened on Friday just before 5 p.m.
The Fouga Magister is a collectible aircraft used by the Air Force in the 1960s.
The X-split footage, apparently taken by witnesses, shows the moment the jet hit the water.
He fell among several other boats, but miraculously avoided hitting them.
One bystander, Gerard, said: “[The plane] He performed a stunt and went into a dive before collapsing at the end of the wharf in the port of Bormes.”
Another added: “He was doing acrobatics, going towards the water and we were waiting for him to come back.
– Everyone is amazed.
Local officials in Var, near the crash site, said: “Rescue operations to find the pilot are currently being coordinated by the Mediterranean Regional Operations Center for Surveillance and Rescue (CROSS).
The resources of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service Var and the Maritime Gendarmerie were engaged in the field.
The tragedy occurred during an air show by the Patrouille de France, the aerobatic unit of the French air and space forces.
They were designated for public display on Friday afternoon after the ceremony began at 4:30 p.m.
The plane that crashed was supposed to be the second one to fly over as part of the show.
The Fouga Magister jets are the former flagships of the Patrouille de France.
Designed with flight schools and training in mind, it can travel up to 530 miles per hour.
