Ree Drummond is embracing the holiday season!
On Sunday, December 8, the pioneer shared a festive picture of herself decorating her Christmas tree with her 4.3 million Instagram followers. And it seems for Drummond, bigger is better!
“Please, for the love of Pete, wait until the end,” she began the title of her tree-decorating video – which was set to the film’s theme elf — by adding a laughing emoticon.
“It took me the better part of a day and four long movies,” the star continued her efforts, adding, “I guess the decorations are next?!”
She added that the films – which she described as “an important part of my journey” – were The Insider, No Country for Old Men, Interstellar and Beginninginstead of the holiday-themed movies fans have come to expect.

The video shows the 55-year-old Food Network star decorating a huge Christmas tree with hundreds of rainbow-like lights. The tree was so tall that Drummond had to use a large, red ladder to reach the top. She also balances precariously on the steps of her house in Oklahoma only to reach an awkward spot at one point.
Once Drummond is satisfied with the lights, she sweeps up fallen pine needles and adds red velvet fabric around the base of the tree.

Followers of the star joked with her about the huge tree in the comments of the reel. One fan asked, “Why didn’t you take the big tree?!” while another jokingly said: “You have 75 people in your family! No one was around to help? At least he’s holding a ladder??”
But Ree isn’t the only member of the Drummond family busy preparing their home for the holidays.

“When I was growing up, all the traditions made our childhood so special,” Alex said in an interview alongside the photos. “It will be fun when we have a daughter to see what traditions develop.”
2024 will also mark Ree’s first Christmas in the newly completed family home she and her husband Ladd, 55, unveiled in April.
Explaining their decision to build a new home instead of renovating the original property on their Pawhuska, Okla., ranch, Ree shared with PEOPLE the significant issues their former home had in an interview published April 7.

“It wasn’t a charming 50-year-old house,” she said of the original property, which was the same one where Ladd grew up and where they raised their five children.
“We loved raising our children in the house, but it had problems with the foundation and developed a few issues that will be quite difficult to fix.” The star also added that there were problems with the plumbing and water damage.
Their new home has elements of a Spanish ranch — like arched doors and exposed wooden ceiling beams. It also has an open industrial style iron staircase with floor to ceiling windows, providing the perfect place for Ree to put up her Christmas tree!
