Clinton Kane has responded to his ex Brooke Schofield’s allegations about his mother’s death and his accent after she posted a 14-part series on TikTok about their relationship.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Kane’s rep confirmed that “Kane and Schofield had a brief, three-month relationship over two years ago” and that her “recent comments about Kane are untrue.”
“Publicly repeating these details is just an attempt to draw attention and focus to Brooke’s podcast, at the expense of trashing yet another ex-boyfriend — a tactic she’s become famous for.”
Brooke’s rep told PEOPLE that her response to the statement was “hahahaha.”

Schofield, 27, posted her response series on June 26 in response to a TikTok Kane, 22, posted a day earlier. “When you’ve been in a relationship for two years and she won’t stop bleating,” 22-year-old Kane wrote alongside a post promoting his single “I Don’t Wanna Live In a World Without You.”
In her video series, Cancelled the co-host revealed all the details of their relationship, from their first meeting to the numerous “fights” they had while together. Schofield explained that she “knew about him because of his music… Tana [Mongeau] I would explode too [his song ‘Chicken Tendies’] on the loop by our old house; we were obsessed with it.”
She later received messages from Kane on Instagram, where he eventually offered to drive her to one of his shows in Vegas, but she initially declined. Later, he invited Schofield to one of his performances in Los Angeles, where they officially met and hung out.
While they were dating, Kane opened up to Schofield about the deaths of his parents and brother, and she claimed that the “overwhelming common theme” of her arguments with Kane was that she would “make his trauma worse”.
“I remind him so much of his mother who was so horrible to him and I should be a lot more sensitive to everything he’s going through,” she said. “And of course, I get that, you know what I mean? A man lost three family members in one year.”
Later in the series, Schofield claimed that she eventually found out that Kane had lied about being Australian and about the deaths of his mother and brother.
“He finally admitted that he actually faked the deaths of his mother and brother,” she claims. “His dad is dead, not that that’s good. But there is one out of three that is dead and the rest are still working.”

Tana Mongeau says ‘This shouldn’t be my life’ as she contemplates dropping out of high school

Rumors about Kane’s mother were called into question after Kane’s appearance on The Zach Sang Show July 2022, where he spoke about the death of his mother. Mongeau – a close friend of Schofield – gave an interview on the same show in April 2023, where she and Sang discussed Kane’s relationship with Schofield and the allegations.
“We were all rooting for it in the beginning,” Mongeau said at the time. “I was like, ‘I love Clinton’s music’ — I still do to this day, I think he’s so talented. We were all like ‘Y— yeah, marry him.’ And then it was like ‘Y— yeah, run.’ It turned around very quickly.”
“I’ve been in Los Angeles for seven years, maybe longer, and I’ve never seen anything [like this]”, continued Mongeau. “I do not think [Kane] he would know the truth if it hit him in the face.”
Kane’s representative confirms that “Kane was born in the Philippines and lived in Australia for a while as a child. Despite frequent moves, he considers Australia his home. He was never disingenuous about it.”
When it comes to his mother, his rep also clarifies that “Kane was lucky enough to have a very special mother figure in his teenage years, which unfortunately passed. Kane regrets the way the devastating news was delivered at the time [and] truly felt that he had lost an irreplaceable mother figure. Kane was and is largely estranged from his immediate family.”
His rep also confirms that “Kane has moved on” from the drama of his previous relationship and “remains focused and committed to releasing new music.”
