Pokémon GO: Scarf Lapras Raid Guide (Best Counters & Weaknesses)

Scarf Lapras will appear in tier-three raids as part of the Water Festival event in Pokémon GO. The event will start on Thursday, May 12, and will conclude on Friday, May 20. The Water Festival event marks the debut of several Pokémon, including Lapras wearing a striped blue scarf. Players should participate as often as possible to obtain every new Pokémon. Winning raids against Scarf Lapras will give players the chance to capture it, and it’s also possible to encounter the Shiny version.

As a tier-three raid boss, Scarf Lapras may be difficult for players to defeat on their own, even if they have a decent team. Although players may be able to win the raid alone, it’s recommended that they invite other trainers to get more chances to capture Scarf Lapras. Friends can be invited in Pokémon GO by starting the raid, then using the invite button above the Pokémon team on the right side of the screen.

Scarf Lapras will have a raid boss CP of around 15,000, but it can be increased if a rainy or snow weather boost is active. Luckily, the weather boost will also increase the CP of the Scarf Lapras that players can capture after winning the raid. The base CP range for Scarf Lapras is between 1,435 and 1,509, but it can reach 1,886 with an active weather boost. Scarf Lapras’ CP can also be increased after the Pokémon is caught using candy.

How To Defeat & Catch Scarf Lapras In Pokémon GO

Scarf Lapras is a Water- and Ice-type Pokémon, so it’s weak against Fighting-, Rock-, Grass-, and Electric-type moves. Although there are a lot of weaknesses to exploit, the player’s Pokémon GO team will also need to have the right moves. A Fast TM or Charged TM can be used to change a move if necessary. These items can be obtained by winning raids or completing research tasks. Once players are ready, they can put their strongest team up against Scarf Lapras.
