Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How to Find (& Use) the Ice Rock

One unusual object in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that Trainers may stumble upon while exploring the frigid tundra of the Alabaster Icelands is the Ice Rock. Also referred to as the Icy Rock in Arceus, the peculiar boulder sits at the end of a tunnel within a cave located between Avalugg’s Legacy and the Bonechill Wastes, east of the Arena’s Approach. The entrance to this cave in Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘ Alabaster Icelands is a large crater-like hole with a somewhat deep drop. It is recommended that Trainers descend into the area using the Pokémon Mounts Braviary or Sneasler to avoid taking fall damage.

In the first tunnel connected to the cave’s entrance, players might encounter an Alpha Bergmite or another wild Pokémon. Those who wish to avoid encounters can use their Wyrdeer to speed past any hostiles. Once Trainers reach the area where the tunnel branches into two paths, they should head down the route on the right to get to the Ice Rock.

Use the Icy Rock in Legends: Arceus to Get Glaceon

Investigating Arceus’ Icy Rock will prompt the message “It’s a rock covered with ice. Touching it could make you freeze.” Any other interaction, such as throwing Pokémon at it to break it like other rocks in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, will not produce noticeable results. To use the Icy Rock in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can approach the stone and evolve Eevee into Glaceon for free.

Traditionally, Trainers would need an Ice Stone to acquire Glaceon. Ice Stones are obtained through Request rewards or purchases made at the Ginkgo Guild Shop or Jubilife Village’s Trading Post. However, Legends: Arecus’ Ice Rock only requires that the player is near the boulder to evolve their Eevee. Nevertheless, one downside for this evolution technique is that the Alabaster Icelands is a late-game region, meaning players must progress relatively far into Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘ story to reach the Ice Rock’s cave. Still, it allows players to save their acquired Ice Stones or Merit Points for other items or evolutions they would like to perform.

Keep in mind that Eevee must reach an adequate level of Friendship to evolve into Glaceon, whether it is with Ice Stones or Legends: Arecus’ Icy Rock. Friendship, also known as Compatibility, can be increased by doing activities with Eevee, such as using the Pokémon to harvest gathering points or fight in battle. Once Eevee is ready to evolve, Trainers can take it to the Icy Rock to acquire their new Glaceon with ease.
