Chainsaw Man Gets Emotional & Gory In Exclusive New English Dub Clip

Screen Rant is excited to share the first look at a clip of Chainsaw Man’s third English dubbed episode. The episode channels the best parts of the series, combining emotional memories with tons of gory action. The clip may be short, but it provides what fans have come to love about the story thus far.

Chainsaw Man’s anime series began releasing on Crunchyroll in October. It is based on the hit manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which has been serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2018. Thus far, it has spanned twelve volumes and released one hundred and nine chapters. The Chainsaw Man anime is being adapted by MAPPA and though the sub and dub are not releasing simultaneously, they are only offset from each other by a few weeks. The English dub cast includes Ryan Colt Levy, Lindsay Seidel, Suzie Yeung, Sarah Wiedenheft, and Reagan Murdock.

Crunchyroll has provided Screen Rant with an exclusive clip of Episode 3, “Meowy’s Whereabouts”. This episode is set to develop more of Denji and Power’s partnership. The video, posted on YouTube, reveals the newest devil Denji, voiced in English by Ryan Colt Levy, will be facing: the Bat Devil, voiced in English by Gabe Kunda. The hero has faced quite a few demons already, but he hasn’t been tested in the field very much since gaining his new abilities as Chainsaw Man from his companion, Pochita. The clip also reveals more of Denji’s memories with his beloved companion. Levy and Kunda’s performances really shine in this clip, meaning that even fans who’ve already watched the original Japanese have a reason to check out the dub. Be warned that the clip is quite gory and contains explicit language, as fans have come to expect from the series.

Denji & Power Might Have More in Common Than Denji Thinks

The clip shows Denji facing off with the Bat Devil, before the hero thinks about his relationship with Pochita. This then leads him to question how Power must feel being separated from her cat, Meowy. Denji and Pochita had been together a long time before their bittersweet parting in the first episode. Despite the immediate separation, the series has excelled at showcasing how close they were and how much they mean to one another. Pochita has quickly become a favorite among Chainsaw Man fans among readers and viewers of the series, making moments like these pull on heartstrings.

Thus far, the show is in the early stages of introducing Denji’s new team as part of the Public Safety Division. Fans have met Makima, Aki Hayakawa, and Power. The titular hero has a lot to learn about his teammates and this episode could be instrumental in developing a sense of camaraderie between him and Power. The team has a myriad of differences, with Denji being a human-Devil hybrid, while Power is a Fiend, and Aki being neither while likely having some dislike towards both, due to his hate of Devils. Considering their differences, it will be tough for this team to come together, but finding emotional similarities with Power could begin to bridge the gap if her connection to Meowy is even partially like Denji’s to Pochita. Fans can catch the third dubbed episode of Chainsaw Man now, on Crunchyroll.

The dub of Chainsaw Man’s third episode is available on Crunchyroll on November 8th!
