Police Ask for Public’s Help ID’ing ‘Persons of Interest’ in Death of Pregnant Woman

Police are asking for help identifying persons of interest in the case of an 18-year-old pregnant woman and a 22-year-old man who were found dead in a vehicle in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, December 26.

The San Antonio Police Department posted video on Instagram Thursday that was taken “from a nearby location” where the bodies of Savanah Soto and her alleged partner, Matthew Guerra, were found.

“There are two persons of interest in the video, one is driving a dark-colored pickup truck, and the other is driving the victim’s silver Kia Optima,” reads the caption of the video written by the police department.

According to a press conference posted to Facebook by the San Antonio Police Department on Thursday evening, they are currently investigating the case as a homicide.

Soto and Guerra were reported missing on Dec. 23 and were last seen in Leon Valley.

The couple are believed to have died several days before their bodies were found. The video released by SAPD was taken days before police discovered the bodies on Tuesday.

Guerra was found with a gunshot wound to the head in a Kia Optima, although it is not yet known how he died. Soto has not yet been formally identified by the medical examiner, but police said they are “confident” it is her.

According to the police statement released at the beginning of the investigation, Soto was on full time. CBS Austin reported that she was due to have an induced labor last weekend.

Matthew Guerra's family confirmed they were told by police that both Matthew and Savanah Nicole Soto, who was pregnant, were found dead in the vehicle
