Popeyes Is Giving Out Free 6-Piece Wings for Almost 2 Weeks in Honor of New Sweet ‘N Smokey Chipotle Flavor

Popeyes is celebrating football season — and their new wing flavor — with a sweet deal.

The chicken chain features sweet ‘n smokey chipotle wings, which are coated in chili and contain a hint of honey to balance the spice.

And from Aug. 26 through Sept. 8, Rewards members can score a free order of six wings with a minimum $10 purchase on the Popeyes app.

It’s all part of the brand’s goal to become “the official soccer viewing wing,” according to a press release.

“Popeyes knows that tailgates and viewing parties are about more than just a game — it’s about gathering with friends, enjoying great food and creating unforgettable memories,” the statement added, noting that the fast-food chain will host more entertainment during the whole season.

The newest addition to the restaurant wing’s flavors joins a lineup that includes honey barbecue, roasted garlic parmesan, signature hot, hot pepper, honey, lemon and pepper, and sweet and spicy.

Earlier this summer, Popeyes announced another newcomer to the menu: boneless wings.

Crazy rich Asians star Jimmy O. Yang helped the chain unveil the new offering with funny commercials that focused on turning fellow chicken lovers into boneless wing fans.

One year ago, in August 2023, Popeyes launched its fan-favorite Sweet and Spicy wings.

Two weeks after the launch, Popeyes revealed that they had become their best-selling product since the launch of the chicken sandwich in 2019.

The wings, which are marinated and cooked until crisp before being tossed in a mixture of chilli, garlic and ginger, quickly became a sensation on TikTok.

“Okay Popeyes, maybe you did something with this flavor,” wrote one user, who goes by the name Nasia, along with a fire emoji. Another TikTok user, Kena Peay, told followers: “I’m obsessed” with wings.
