Suspected of making controversial comments
In 2021, Pradeep Machiraju was accused of offending Andhra Pradesh after he made controversial remarks about Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, during a show The sentiments of the people of Parirakshana Samithi State and Andhra Pradesh were criticized. Amaravati JAC leader Srinivasa Rao said in an interview that Pradeep Machiraju should retract his remarks and defend himself for making such Apology for remarks. The actor later shared a video on social media apologizing for his remarks and said his remarks were misunderstood and that he had no intention of hurting people’s feelings.
Rape allegation
In 2020, a young woman filed a lawsuit against Machiraju and 138 other men, accusing them of sexually assaulting and raping her in 2014. The actor denied the accusations and said that in 2014 he was busy with his talk show “Koncham Touch lo Unte Chepta”. He called such false accusations “mental rape” and demanded justice. However, during an interview at Somajiguda Press Club in Hyderabad, the victim later admitted to making false accusations against the actor and apologized for it, she said,
I was forced to use the ‘Dollar Boy’ alias ‘Raju’ after celebrities like Pradeep and actor Krishnanudu. ”
Alleged violation of CBFC rules
Sriramoju Suniseth has reportedly claimed that Pradeep Machiraju is not eligible to work in the film. Sunisith had filed a complaint against Machiraju in February 2020, alleging that Machiraju violated CBFC rules and was also arrested in a case of molesting a woman; therefore, he should be allowed to work in the film industry.
Penalized for drunk driving
In 2018, Pradeep Machiraju was booked for drunk driving. On January 1, 2018, he was inspected by the police on Route 45 in Banjara Hills on his way back from a New Year party. The actor’s vehicle was immediately impounded after he failed a breathalyser test.
