Prateek Kuhad was born on Friday, March 23, 1990, in Jaipur, Rajasthan (34 years old; as of 2024). His zodiac sign is Aries.
He completed his education at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur. After completing his studies, he moved to New York to attend New York University’s School of Arts and Sciences, double majoring in mathematics and economics. At 16, he started taking guitar lessons, but left soon after.

In 2013, Prateek returned to India to pursue his music career. He released his first EP (Extended Play) in 2013 titled “Raat Raazi”. His songs are available in English and Hindi.
In 2015, he released his first full-length album, In Tokens & Charms, which became an instant hit and earned him international recognition.
He made his Bollywood debut as a singer-songwriter with the song “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” from the film Baar Baar Dekho (2016).
Apart from this, he also writes for advertising and film. He has toured the world in countries such as India and Canada and the United States.

- He enjoys photography, writing, and reading poetry and novels.
- As a child, Prateik grew up listening to Bollywood songs on television and radio. He also listened to a playlist of his parents’ favorite artists, Harry Belafonte and Cliff Richards. He also listened to his sister’s playlist, which included songs by Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. All of this influenced his interest in music.
- As a student, Platek had a band and wrote songs, but just for fun. He had no plans to pursue a career in music.
- While he was in New York, he was inspired by American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. He also began listening to Indian folk music, which influenced his music and songwriting.
- While in New York, he also wrote songs and began performing locally.
- After college, he worked as an economic consultant in New York for four to five months, but then realized he didn’t want to do that for the rest of his life. He returned to India and started composing music.
