Jessie James Decker’s newest addition wasn’t exactly part of her five-year plan.
While talking to PEOPLE about her partnership with Crate & Kids, the country singer, 35, who is currently expecting her fourth child, opened up about her pregnancy journey and shared whether she plans to expand her family with husband Eric Decker.
“I was telling my sister, I mean, we all know I felt done, but there was this little voice in the back of my head that kept saying we were missing someone,” Jessie tells PEOPLE. “And I think that’s why Eric and I probably never officially closed that chapter because I think we just knew.”

“And now that we have this sweet boy coming into our lives, I’m now definitely sure that this chapter will be closed after this and our family will be completely complete,” added Jessie, who is mom to sons Forrest, 5, and Eric ” Bubby” Jr., 8, plus daughter Vivianne Rose, 9.
Although she couldn’t be more excited to welcome her baby boy, the mom-to-be admits she wasn’t planning on having another child.
“It was a big surprise, a big shock,” she tells PEOPLE. “Not to get too personal, I’m very up-to-date on when and how things are going, and this kind of slipped my mind.”
“And it was definitely a shock, but I think everything happens for a reason. And I really think it’s all in God’s timing. He knew we were ready for this sweet boy and I think we missed someone. But yeah, it was a surprise , but it was a sweet surprise. We had no plans.”
As they prepare to welcome their little boy, the soon-to-be mother of four says she and Eric have already picked out a name.
“Well, then I had a dream, and in the dream I was holding a boy, looking at him and saying his name, and I woke up the next morning, I said, ‘OK, it’s definitely a boy. And now I know his name.'”
She went to tell her family about her dream, who at first did not believe her. But a week later the doctor confirmed the baby’s gender. “Everybody likes the name, so that’s good,” she says. “There is no grief against me.”
The mom of three says she also enjoys decorating her nursery with the help of Crate and Kids. “When Crate and Kids approached me with the idea of decorating our new baby room, I was so excited because it had been so long since I had a baby that I mentioned the fourth baby thing,” she says.
“They just came at the perfect time and made it so easy for me.”
