Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Are Gearing Up for a School Break! All About Their Plans

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have a fun October ahead!

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s three children probably woke up excited on Friday as the half-term holidays begin at Lambrook School. George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, will have two weeks off from school during the first break of the first term of the school year. They return on October 30 just in time for the little ones’ favorite holiday: Halloween.

Although the Prince and Princess of Wales did not release a photo of their children returning to Lambrook this year, as photos are not shared each year to keep the school private and pressure-free, the trio started school in September and began their break after five weeks of learning . Although they’re growing up as royalty, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ free time is likely to resemble that of their classmates with plenty of family time and relaxed activities.

After a full fortnight of joint and solo engagements, including a trip to Wales to kick off Black History Month and three days of outings around World Mental Health Day, Prince William and Princess Kate are likely to have scaled back their schedules to spend more time with their children during their time off from schools as they did in the past.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, have already revealed some of the pastimes that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy, from baking and cooking in the kitchen to arts and crafts projects. But it seems that the family’s favorite hobby is being outdoors.

In a rare interview with Happy mom, happy baby podcast in February 2020, Kate said she’s happiest when “I’m out in the country with my family and we’re all dirty dirty.”

“Someone asked me the other day, what would you like your children to remember about their childhood?” the royal mom told host Giovanni Fletcher. “And I thought that was a really good question, because actually, if you really think about it, is that me sitting around trying to do their math and spelling homework over the weekend?”

“Or the fact that we went outside and lit a fire and sat around trying to cook the sausages and it didn’t work because it was too wet?” she continued.

Fans got a glimpse of the family dynamic at the Big Help Out in May, held during King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation weekend. The Wales family volunteered at the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough to take part in various projects, with William teaching George how to use an electric screwdriver and Charlotte playfully keeping Louis in line while she colored planter blocks.

“Louis was very enthusiastic and did a good job. He was determined to do it all himself, and he managed to dig the whole brush in, lift it up and managed to cover quite a few of us in paint!” Anne Edwards, an adult Girl Scout assistant, told PEOPLE at the time with a laugh. “He did a good job!”

According to Edwards, “sensible” Charlotte looked after her younger brother at his first royal engagement.

“She advised him, obviously! ‘Don’t do it, Louis!’ — things like that,” she said, adding that it was great to see the children from Wales so enthusiastic about the effort.

“They were very relaxed and joined in, like normal children. That’s what was really nice,” said the volunteer.

In addition to instilling community values in their children, Prince William and Princess Kate have also passed on their passion for sports. The Prince and Princess of Wales brought George and Charlotte to watch Wimbledon in May, where the brother and sister eagerly watched the event from their prime seats in the royal box. William and Kate have a tennis court at Amner Hall, their Norfolk country home, plus a trampoline for their children to play on – where the Princess of Wales recently injured her toes.
