Prince William Arrives in Liverpool to Meet with Young People Looking to Better Their Community

Prince William visited Liverpool to highlight community groups in the area working to support young people.

The Prince of Wales, 42, visited Toxteth in Liverpool on Thursday, January 23, stopping by Cycle of Life, a not-for-profit cycling organization that helps young people from different backgrounds improve their physical and mental health and increase their employment opportunities. The organisation, which launched in 2020, was originally set up to ensure equal access to cycling and has expanded its reach to help boost young people’s confidence, build relationships and improve access to the city as a whole, according to William’s office at Kensington Palace.

Cycle of Life is located in the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre, and William learned more about the multi-purpose, multicultural building upon his arrival. He then joined Cycle of Life participants to participate in building and learning about bike maintenance with them, and learned how entrepreneurial cargo bikes work in action.

Since its inception five years ago, Cycle of Life has directly reached around 3,850 young people with its programs, according to Kensington Palace.

Later on January 23, the future king visited Tiber, where he met with members of the Tiber Youth Steering Group to learn how they came together to lead the construction of the vibrant community center — where more than 200 young people have become part of the project since its inception in 2005 .

Upon his arrival, Prince William met with members of the Steering Group and heard about their experiences, including funding applications, design and construction of the new community building. He then met with young men and women on the playing field of the football center next door, which Kensington Palace says brings together more than 1,200 children and young people a week.

He then participated in a walk with community members.

Prince William is channeling Princess Diana’s legacy with a charity visit amid news of Kate Middleton’s remission

Following his wife Kate Middleton’s Jan. 14 news that she was in remission following a cancer diagnosis last year, Prince William took up royal duties on Jan. 21, such as visiting Centrepoint (a charity his mother, Princess Diana, once supported) and making a solo trip to Monaco to watch his beloved team Aston Villa play in the UEFA Champions League that same day.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are ‘more open’ and ‘talking about their relationship’, source says (exclusive)

After Prince William himself called 2024 “brutal” with the Princess of Wales, 43, and his father King Charles diagnosed with cancer, “William must feel so lucky that Kate has gone through this that she wants to tell the world about it love .It shows the intimacy of their journey together,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward told PEOPLE.

Of their recent public display of love, “They’re able to express themselves in a way they never would before,” Seward added.
