Prithvi Pankaj Shaw was born on November 9, 1999 in Virar, Maharashtra, India. When he was three years old, his father sent him to the Cricket Academy in Viral, Maharashtra. He lost his mother when he was 4 years old. At that time, his father ran a clothing business, but he stopped running the business and focused on his son Prithvi’s cricket career.

Prithvi used to play cricket with his friends and father on the beach near JW Marriott Hotel. When he was 11 years old, he received a contract from AAP Entertainment Limited to move to Mumbai with his father to continue his cricket studies.

He studied at AVS Vidyamandir High School, Vilar, Mumbai and Rizvi Springfield High School, Mumbai. Currently, he is pursuing his degree from Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai. On February 15, 2023, Prithvi Shaw registered a case against eight people, two of whom were identified as Shobhit Thakur and Sana or Sapna Gill (social media influencer), accusing them of chasing his car and besieging him with baseball bats. The cricketer alleged in his complaint that Sapna and a man asked him for selfies at a luxury hotel near Mumbai airport.
