Priya has led Vedanta’s ESG (environmental, social and governance) transformation to ensure the planet and nature are protected. Priya implements focused action plans on decarbonisation, water positivity, workplace safety, community wellbeing and workforce diversity. Priya Agarwal is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Hindustan Zinc Limited. She is a director, leader and board member of the Anil Agarwal Foundation (AAF), responsible for the Anil Agarwal Foundation’s philanthropic activities. YODA (Youth for Animals) is an animal welfare organization co-founded by Priya Agarwal Hebbar and her husband Akarsh Hebbar. Their goal is to increase awareness, direct action, and education about adoption, commercial breeders, and puppy handlers. YODA provides services related to animal welfare such as organizing rescues, post-rescue rehabilitation, rehoming, medical assistance, background research and home checks of adopters, and helps with medical emergencies when needed. YODA rescues animals by removing them from environments considered harmful to their physical and mental health and rehoming them to families who are capable of caring for them.
TACO – Animal Care Organization
Animal Care Organization (TACO) is an arm of the Anil Agarwal Foundation. It is a non-profit organization founded by Priya Agarwal. The organization aims to ensure “dignity and respect” for all animals. Priya Agarwal explains TACO as:
TACO is the first animal welfare project and will provide world-class infrastructure, veterinary services, training facilities and animal shelters. TACO collaborates with YODA (Youth for Animals) as the executive agency and the National Veterinary Foundation as knowledge partners to create a sustainable and scalable animal welfare ecosystem. TACO has partnered with the Rajasthan State Government to provide infrastructure support to Ranthambore National Park to further support tiger conservation efforts. TACO donated INR 10 crore to support India’s 52nd Tiger Reserve “Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve” in Bundi, Rajasthan.
