Priyanka Maurya talks about her career as an executive at Fly SpiceJet in 2008. Later, joined Doctor Janta Homeo Clinic in 2012 to practice homeopathic medicines and gained knowledge of homeopathic procedures and principles, as well as in-depth understanding of medical conditions and treatments. After gaining extensive knowledge, she opened her own private clinic named Doctor Janta Homeo Clinic to gain experience in assisting patients with homeopathic medicines, extensive knowledge of homeopathic procedures and principles, and knowledge of medical conditions and treatments understand deeper. She has been running a clinic for over 8 years.

The homeopathic doctor is an active social worker and is well known in Lucknow. Impressed with her social connections with the public, the Indian National Congress invited her to join their party, which she agreed to and became a Member of Parliament in 2017 as the General Secretary of IYC (UPE). Priyanka Maurya is a compassionate social worker. She is associated with many non-profit organizations providing assistance to those in need. In 2019, she joined hands with Roti Bank India to provide free food and shelter to people from all communities in our country, ensuring that no community is left out. Priyanka Maurya also volunteers at various social charity events. During the Covid 19 pandemic, she distributed food and ration packets to the poor in her city. Later in January 2020, she was appointed as the National Coordinator of the organization and launched the Sanjeevani Program for the disadvantaged and poor to connect with a network of specialist doctors over the phone and get medical advice for common health.

The former Congress leader was embroiled in a major controversy when the Indian National Congress denied issuing a ticket to her. According to Priyanka, she appeared on the “Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon” poster to gain votes from backward category women voters as she herself belongs to the OBC category. She also claimed that the Congress party only represents huge amounts of money to distribute UP assembly election tickets and they also do not want OBC women candidates to contest through their party. she says,
I regret that despite my hard work in the constituency, I did not get a ticket for the UP assembly polls. My face was used in the ‘Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon’ campaign. I got a landline call and the caller asked me for money to buy a ticket, but I refused. I completed everything but the ticket was pre-planned and given to someone who had just been back a month. I want to send this message to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi: This is happening on the ground. “
She further added,
Someone came up with the slogan: “ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon”. But it remained just a slogan and did not become a reality because a girl was deprived of the opportunity to participate in the elections. I work hard in my constituency. I wholeheartedly believe that I will help people. But the Congress party has pre-decided its candidates and I am just a pawn of theirs. The party’s manifesto ‘Shakti Vidhan’ depicts my picture on the front and the party is using me to attract votes from women, OBCs. “
Unsatisfied with the Congress’ decision, she resigned from the party and entered into talks with the BJP. When asked about joining the BJP during a media interaction, she replied:

Later, on the evening of January 20, 2020, Priyanka Maurya joined the BJP. After joining the BJP, when the media asked her about her decision to join the party, she said:
I joined the BJP for a better social service platform… I have been working in Congress… Contrary to their slogan ‘Ladki Hun Lad Sakti Hun’, I have no chance to fight. “
