Priyanka Nutakki was born on Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Kanuru, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh (age 20; as of 2022). Her zodiac sign is Gemini. At the age of 7, she started playing chess during the summer vacation in second grade. She quickly picked up the sport and won the district level competition. Her parents noticed her talent and enrolled her in Mustabada Chess Educational Institute in Vijaywada. She studied at Delhi Public School in Vijayawada. She began studying under the famous instructor Bobba Veerabhadra Rao, also known as VR Bobba. She then trained under coach Rama Raju in Hyderabad. In 2018, she started training under the guidance of senior coach G. Murali Krishna in Ponnur, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Later, she trained under the guidance of coaches GM Swayam Mishra and GM Farrukh Amonatov. To graduate, she opted for a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

In 2010, he began to participate in various district and state level competitions. In 2011, she won the National Under-9 Girls Chess Championship, in 2013, she won the National Under-11 Girls Chess Championship, and in 2015, she won the 29th National Under-13 Girls Chess Championship. In 2012, she won the Asian Youth Chess Women’s Championship under 10 years old group championship. In the same year, she once again won the World Youth Chess Women’s Championship under 10 years old group championship.
She participated in the 2016 World Women’s Under-14 Championship and the 20th Dubai Open in 2018. She won the Technical University of Riga Open – Women’s Category A. In 2019, she broke the 2,300-point rating standard in the International Chess Federation (FIDE) rating. She won the title of Women’s Grandmaster for the first time in the 2018-2019 Reardon Cup competition. Most tournaments have been canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, she won the 2020 Susan Polgar Foundation Women’s Invitational Online Championship. She completed her second WGM standard and first International Masters (IM) standard at the 7th Sunway Sitges International Open 2021. She completed her third and final WGM standard at the 7th Sunway Sitges International Open in 2021. 2022 MPL 47th National Women’s Chess Championship. On March 2, 2022, she became a female grandmaster. She won the Commonwealth Chess Championship in the under-20 category in 2022. In November 2022, she qualified for the 2023 FIDE Knockout World Cup.

- In 2014, when she won the Asian Under-12 Girls Rapid Chess Championship, the school presented her with a laptop.
- She is the 23rd Indian female grandmaster.
- She was expelled from the 2022 FIDE World Junior Chess Championship in Italy after wireless headphones were found in her jacket pocket. She was cleared of any wrongdoing; however, she had to withdraw from the competition midway.
- Her favorite chess book is My Great Senior by Garry Kasparov.
- In her spare time, besides playing chess, she also likes to play badminton and table tennis.
- Dr. Rajat Bhargava, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, conferred the award on Priyanka on March 22, 2022, who became the 23rd Indian Woman Guru.
- Her main focus was her education; however, she took up chess after her parents insisted that she participate in extracurricular activities during the summer vacation.
