In 2022, Black Coffee became the first South African artist to win Best Dance/Electronic Music at the Grammys for their album, Unconsciously.
“While working on this album, it was very important to me to make it accessible to as many people as possible,” said the producer Board in 2022
“The album evokes many sounds and styles, all while staying true to its roots. I wanted to make an album that can not only be listened to in the car or in the club, but while you are cleaning the house, going through a difficult period and everything in between. It breaks down boundaries and I think that’s ultimately the appeal.”
