Accused of raping actress Priyansu Singh
On August 29, 2023, his partner Priyansu Singh accused Puneet Singh Rajput of raping her multiple times and filed an FIR against him. In an interview, she spoke of how she first came into contact with him and how he came to her home and tried to rape her. she says,
I met Puneet Singh Rajput on social media when my career was doing well. He started talking to me and was initially very nice and polite to me. Since he wanted to get into the film industry, I helped him find a job through my connections. As the days passed, he gained my trust completely. He always said he would marry me. After a while, he also started coming to my house; he actually moved to my neighborhood. One day, when I was alone, he suddenly came to my house drunk and forced himself on me. The next morning, when he regained consciousness, I cried and told him about the previous night and the violence. I also warned him that I was going to the police station. He cried and apologized to me, and comforted me by saying that as long as he convinced his family, he would marry me soon. But Puneet did the same thing again. He forced himself on me again. I was forced to do things I didn’t want to do. He grabbed my hair and made me do unnatural things. ”
