In January 2016, Pushpika De Silva married commercial pilot and businessman Thilanka Dabarera. On October 31, 2016, Pushpika and Thilanka were blessed with a baby boy. After 2017, the marriage did not go well and Pushpika De Silva announced that she would no longer live with her husband. Pushpika and Thilanka are yet to divorce.

Pushpika de Silva started her modeling career in 2009. She has walked for many famous Sri Lankan designers. In 2010, Pushpika participated in the Miss Sri Lanka pageant. Pushpika de Silva was one of the top five contestants in Miss Sri Lanka 2010. She did not stop at winning the title, and in 2011, she participated in the Miss Sri Lanka pageant again and won the title.

In 2020, Pushpika De Silva won the title of Sri Lanka Bridal Beauty. In the same year, Pushpika signed up for the Mrs. Sri Lanka beauty pageant. On April 4, 2021, Mrs. World 2020 Caroline Jurie crowned Pushpika De Silva as the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021. Due to some controversial reasons, she was unable to take the crown home that day, but after completing all investigations, Pushpika De Silva took back the crown on April 6, 2021.

Sri Lanka was rocked by drama at the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 pageant on April 4, 2021. Pushpika De Silva made headlines when Mrs. World 2020, Caroline Jurie, snatched the Mrs. Sri Lanka crown from her. According to Caroline, Pushpika was not eligible for the title as she said she was a “divorcee”. Pushpika De Silva left the stage in tears and later took legal action against Caroline Jurie. After much discussion and questioning, the crown was returned to Pushpika De Silva on April 6, 2021.
