A LEAKED military report reveals what could be Vladimir Putin’s step-by-step plan to bring the West to the brink of World War Three – and it starts in weeks.
The secret documents detail the despot’s possible “road to conflict” which culminates in the summer of 2025 on “X-day” when half a million NATO and Russian troops will face each other.

The bomb files, obtained by Bild from the German Ministry of Defense, show exactly how the Kremlin chief could be preparing for a hybrid attack on NATO as early as next winter and a real war next summer.
Classified as “For Official Use Only”, the terrifying scenario would see Putin launch his plans this February with a new mobilization of 200,000 men.
Moscow may be planning to launch a spring offensive against Ukraine to secure victory in June, followed by hybrid attacks against the West.
Meanwhile, the Russian tyrant may be planning to mass troops and missiles on NATO’s eastern flank, trying to antagonize the West and destabilize the Baltics.

But all the while, German military intelligence believes he will be secretly planning to conquer the Suwalki Gap – the 60-mile corridor that lies between Russian territory and NATO soil.
Such a move would bring the West and Russia to the brink of war – and the report suggests Putin is preparing an invasion for the summer of 2025.
Dubbed “X-Day”, it is predicted that NATO will order 300,000 troops to defend its eastern border, and 30 days later – those troops will face the full force of the Russian military with an “unknown outcome”.
This is the 10-step plan that the German military seems to believe Putin will take to drag NATO into war with Russia – sparking the outbreak of World War 3.
February 1, 2024 – Russia mobilizes 200,000 people
The report believes that Putin could order a mass mobilization of 200,000 men within weeks to bolster his depleted army after nearly two years of heavy-handed war in Ukraine.
2. Spring 2024 – Putin launches a new offensive
The Kremlin could then launch a fresh offensive in the spring across Ukraine – aided by wavering Western support for Kiev.
The scenario suggests that Russia will gradually wear down the Ukrainian military until it finally achieves victory in June.
July 3, 2024 – attacks on the West begin
The next step follows Putin’s success on the battlefield and involves first a covert and then an overt attack on the West using a wave of cyber and hybrid warfare strategies.
These attacks are leading to growing crises and helping to encourage Russian ethnic minorities to cause conflict and chaos within the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
September 4, 2024 – massing of troops in the east
Next September could see Moscow – as it did in 2021 before its full-scale invasion of Ukraine – begin a major troop build-up in Belarus.
Under the auspices of a major “military exercise” known as “West 2024”, 50,000 troops will be stationed on the Russian puppet state’s border with NATO states Poland and Lithuania.
October 5, 2024 – Secret Suwalki Gap Plan
Russia is moving troops and medium-range missiles into Kaliningrad, Russia’s westernmost territory.
The enclave of the Baltic Sea is squeezed between Poland in the south and Lithuania in the north and east.
It is used as the headquarters of Russia’s Baltic Fleet and some of its most powerful weapons, including hypersonic missiles.
However, a leaked report said the troop movement was a deliberate attempt to deceive the West and suggested an imminent attack on NATO.
Instead, the Kremlin’s secret goal is said to be a later invasion and conquest of the Suwalki Gap – the narrow Polish-Lithuanian corridor between Belarus and Kaliningrad.
For the West, it is the only land link to the three former Soviet Baltic republics – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – which would be vulnerable to Putin if the West lost control of the gap.
For Russia, control of the corridor would give Moscow a land link to Kaliningrad from Belarus.

December 6, 2024 – destabilize the Baltic
Since December, the Kremlin has been trying to stir up trouble and artificially create “border clashes” and deadly “riots” across the Baltics to destabilize the small group of NATO states.
It will come just as the US could potentially be without a leader for several weeks after Joe Biden’s possible election defeat – distracting America from foreign affairs.
March 7, 2025 – lies of war
Russia will then use the UN Security Council meeting to bizarrely accuse the West of preparing to attack Russia to help create an incentive to move more troops and weapons into Belarus.
Moscow would now have two tank divisions, a mechanized infantry division and a divisional headquarters stationed close to NATO’s borders with more than 70,000 troops.
May 8, 2025 – NATO responds
Finally, in May 2025, NATO decides on “credible deterrence measures” to prevent a possible attack on the Suwalki Gap that now seems imminent.
Over 200,000 soldiers stationed in Belarus and Kaliningrad are ready for launch.
9. Summer 2025 – ‘Day X’
On the mysterious and terrifying “X-Day”, which falls sometime in the summer of 2025, NATO will send 300,000 troops to its eastern flank – to counter the growing threat posed by Russia.
10. 30 Days Later – ‘WW3’
According to the report, Putin’s “road to conflict” plan ends exactly 30 days after that – with the outcome of a military conflict uncertain.
More than half a million Russian and NATO troops will face off in the Suwalki Gap – bringing the world to the brink of World War 3.
A spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense told Bild that they did not want to comment on the specific defense scenario of the alliance – called “Alliance Defense 2025”.
They said: “Basically, I can tell you that considering different scenarios, even if they’re extremely unlikely, is part of the everyday job of the military, especially in training.”
It comes as Britain is set to send 20,000 troops to take part in one of NATO’s biggest military exercises since the Cold War.
Defense Minister Grant Shapps today announced the deployment of all three armed forces to a 31-nation exercise.
Focusing on Eastern Europe, its goal is to prepare for potential Russian aggression and to be a show of force against the enemies of the West.
But it also comes shortly after US and UK military strikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
In a major speech, Shapps described how the UK plans to respond to the end of the “peace dividend” – the post-Cold War period marked by significant cuts in defense spending.
“We are in a new era and we must be ready to deter our enemies, ready to lead our allies and ready to defend our nation whenever the call comes.
“Today, our opponents are busily rebuilding their barriers. Old enemies have been revived. Battle lines are drawn. Tanks are literally on Ukrainian turf.
“And the foundations of the world order have been shaken to the core. We are at a crossroads.”
NATO’s exercises, codenamed Steadfast Defender, will involve 16,000 British troops with tanks, artillery and helicopters to be deployed in Eastern Europe from next month.
The Royal Navy will deploy 2,000 sailors on eight warships and submarines, while 400 Royal Marines will be sent to the Arctic Circle.
Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron told Sky News it was “hard to imagine a time when there was so much danger and uncertainty”.
