Putin’s troops shot me in the head & I said goodbye to my children thinking I would die – now I have a message for Vlad

A UKRAINIAN mum who was shot in the head by Putin’s troops – but survived to become a Playboy model – has revealed her message to Mad Vlad.

Since then, she has become a symbol of Ukrainian defiance, appearing on the cover of that country’s Playboy magazine wearing an eyepatch and a metallic bikini.

Iryna continues to model – but now she either wears sunglasses, a patch or her hair covers her left eye.

Doctors were convinced she would die as the mother underwent a 10-hour operation to remove bullet fragments from her skull.

She even said “goodbye” to her children as she accepted her fat – but miraculously pulled through.

Some two years after Putin’s invasion on February 24, 2022, she remains in besieged Kiev.

And she branded Putin a “murderer” waging a “cold-blooded” war against his homeland.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “It’s war now. Children, women and old people are dying.

“Our people are defending our country.

“Leaders of other countries shake hands with Putin, forgetting that he is a murderer who has been waging a cold-blooded war for eight years.

“He crossed all acceptable limits”

She told us that the Russian bombing is getting worse, her family has been without electricity for days, and she and her children are running towards underground bunkers almost every day.

And she warned that the nerves of the staunch Ukrainian people were starting to fray amid Putin’s renewed onslaught.

“People have gone crazy. They’ve gone off the rails,” she told The Sun.

Waking up to the sound of sirens and explosions, Iryna painfully admitted that her resolve was also starting to wear thin – and she started thinking about fleeing the Ukrainian capital.

But of course, he still bears the scars of his last attempt to leave.

Iryna first tried to leave her home in the early days of the war when Russian bombs started falling and tanks crossed the border two years ago.

It comes as

On February 26, 2022, Iryna had had enough of hiding in the parking lot from the grenades and set out on her way to Western Ukraine – a region untouched by fighting at the time.

She brought her three children – then ten-year-old David, five-year-old Dan and the youngest Dorian, who was only one year old.

The streets of the capital were unusually quiet and empty, with only a few police cars – a few days ago, the city was bustling with life.

Everything changed overnight, with Russian soldiers slowly infiltrating the suburbs of Kiev.

“The mood was already a bit tense. Panic in the air,” she explained.

“26. the situation worsened so much that the decision to leave was made.

– Now I understand that it was not right.

Iryna didn’t realize the danger she was in while trying to escape from Kiev.

“I didn’t notice anyone before – but then I heard a shot behind my car and assumed it was somewhere in the distance,” she recalled.

When Iryna realized that her car was the target of the Russians, it was too late.

In a split second, a bullet hit her in the head.

Somehow this horror didn’t eclipse my condition because I was just trying to live.

The bullets pierced the rear and left side windows of the vehicle, ricocheted and pierced the windshield.

She managed to stop the car while dealing with the pain – and even said “goodbye” to her children before she passed out.

Iryna would wake up a day later in a hospital bed – along with other wounded civilians who were also caught in the crossfire.

And the first thing she wanted to know was: what happened to her children?

By incredible luck, a team of paramedics was also passing through the fight and rushed to help Iryna and the children.

Iryna told The Sun: “The head doctor came to me and told me everything that had happened to me, that my children were alive, that they were fine, that I had lost an eye, that I had a big, bad head injury, part of my face was destroyed. “

The children were “miraculously unharmed” because bullet fragments were all over the car.

They took Iryna to a nearby state hospital and made sure to take the children to relatives.

For the next five days, she received strong painkillers and was left on a ventilator while Ukrainian doctors feared she would not make it.

With the help of her family, she was transported to a hospital in Dusseldorf, Germany, where twenty doctors will meet her and take care of Iryna until she recovers.

In March of the same year, the mother of three children was operated on for ten hours without interruption.

She said: “Thanks to the German teacher, I look like I’ve only lost an eye.

“But it’s not just the eye. It’s half my face. It’s mute. The nerves haven’t sprung.

“I don’t chew on my left side. It’s impossible to do that.”

But the surgery was only halfway to recovery, and mom was given a liquid diet for a month.

She remembered the first time she opened her surviving eye and saw a glimpse of heaven.

The model didn’t think she would ever regain her sight.

Iryna said: “I was so happy about it, but I couldn’t see very well. I could see some parts of the building, but it was still hard to see.”

The operation left Iryna with many scars; her head was swollen, and her face was unrecognizable at first.

But that did not break the brave Ukrainian mother.

She said: “I was very glad I survived because I said ‘goodbye’ to the children.

“So, in the background of me surviving, this horror kind of didn’t cloud my condition because I was just trying to live.

“And to see myself in the mirror when I’m dry with a head like this [big]all scarred, short-cut hair.

– Well, it was awful, but my goal was to get back on my feet and live for my children.

It was seven long weeks before she was finally reunited with her children.

Iryna’s boys were with her mother and sister in the town of Truskavets, west of Ukraine.

The mom recalled the emotional moment when she hugged her sons.

She said: “It was such a touching moment but it was the hardest for my youngest son Dorian.

He simply did not recognize me because it was stressful for him and subconsciously he started calling my mother ‘mom’, and during that time she was very dear to him.

The toddler has experienced immense stress and trauma after witnessing the horrifying ideal – and it will take some time for him to feel comfortable around his mother again.

Iryna said: “He saw me and ran away. Of course, it was a shock for me.

“I cried. Then everything got better step by step, but mom was with us from that moment on.”

After the trauma she experienced two years ago and the threats she still faces today, Iryna said that now she is running out of strength to continue.

She said, “Now because of these attacks, I am weaker than I was before. My reserves are not enough.

“This horror that many people live in here, continuing to work and live under shelling. It’s terrible.”
