Latifah Says Country Star Has “Inspired Me Since I Was A Little Girl”

Queen Latifah is ready to bring a famous guest to the set for season four Equalizer!

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published Thursday, Living single alum, 53, told the magazine she’s excited to be back at work after last year’s SAG and WGA strikes caused production delays.

Now that the strikes are over, Latifah knows exactly who she wants to guest star in the upcoming season.

“I would love to get Dolly Parton on this show,” she said. “We were very close to being able to do it last year. So I don’t know if we’ll be able to do it this year, but I’d like to include Dolly.”

The The last holiday talent added that she and the country music star, 78, got along when they worked together before.

“We shot a film together called Joyful noise, and she was just the most amazing person,” Latifah said of their time on the set of the 2012 film. It’s funky like everyone else. So I would like to bring Dolly here. I’m just going to put it out there.”

“That’s my girl,” she added. – I simply love her.

Last month, the “Jolene” singer told PEOPLE exclusively that she is currently focused on finding someone to tell her life story on Broadway.

“I’m currently working on my life story as a musical, so to go to Broadway and open my own show on Broadway is a big deal [goal] in my mind for many, many years,” the Grammy winner said last month. “That would be one that I want to make sure I finish while I’m still running, while I’m around to stay involved in it.”

She intends to make the dream a reality by “late ’25.” Meanwhile, she’s thinking about holding a “Finding Dolly” talent show to find the perfect person to play her.

Maybe there’s still hope for a Latife and Parton collaboration.

During the interview with S. in July 2023 Radio with the greatest hitsthe “9 to 5” singer said that death is probably the only way she will ever retire.

“As long as I’m able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good, the only way to slow down would be for that reason,” she told host Ken Bruce.

4th season Equalizer promises to have a lot of twists and turns, according to the “Ladies First” hitmaker.

“We’re going to give people what they need,” Latifah told ET. “You will get a family, love, [and] you’ll get all the action you can handle. You will get explosions. You’re going to make people dive and duck and all that good stuff.”
