Quinta Brunson loves her new hairstyle!

On Sunday, September 15, Abbott Elementary School star, 34, showed off her new pixie cut at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, where she was nominated in multiple categories for her hit ABC show.

On the red carpet, Brunson chatted with style correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi about her new short haircut in a clip that aired the next day on Today with Hoda and Jenna.

“I’ve been planning it for a really long time and I kept getting chills and I decided it was time to stop chilling and just cut it off,” the actress said of the look, which she slicked back with a side curl for the occasion.

Rassi then asked the actress what her first reaction to the haircut was, to which she said she felt “shock, but then complete freedom.”

“Like, I’ve never felt better. I just feel very much like myself. It’s like a part of me that I’ve been trying to get for a long time,” Brunson continued.

Earlier this week, she showed off the pixie cut at the 2024 BAFTA TV Tea Party event in Beverly Hills, California, where she styled bangs in front of her face.

Abbott Elementary School earned a total of eight nominations at the last Emmy Awards in categories including Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Brunson.

The comedian attended the star-studded event in a sizzling black Georges Chakra FW24 strapless couture gown that flared to the knee in a dramatic train. The length of the dress was emphasized with two large identical bows on the side.
