Singer Rachel Platten has hit out at her struggle to lose pregnancy weight in a powerful message on Instagram, saying she’s “honestly sick of trying to get down to my pre-baby weight”.
In an emotional post dated Oct. 21, the “Fight Song” singer — who shares daughters Sophie Jo, 2, and Violet Skye, 5, with husband Kevin Lazano — wrote, “A message to myself — and anyone else who needs it. I am not less worthy of love just because I can’t lose the last 5 or 10 pounds of ‘baby weight’. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and my body is begging me to accept it.”
“I’m stronger than ever, I’m so healthy, I can dance and lift weights and carry my girls and move and live a full and beautiful life.”

As for continuing to try to lose weight, Platten, 43, had this to say: “Y— it.”
“I’m not waiting to show off when I’m thinner,” Platten continued, sharing that she plans to “give away those jeans I’ve been waiting to fit into again and just buy a bigger one and love what I’m working with.”
“If you’re with me, tell me in the comments below because I know I’m not alone in this.”
Captioning the text post, the “Girls” singer wrote, “Can’t we just love ourselves the way we are?! Enough of this. Give me 💪🏽 if you’re with me” — and her comments were filled with bending emojis.
“I crossed the number on the scale, that doesn’t mean anything. I am focused on strength, function and power. Strong women of all sizes are beautiful. 💪 ❤️💪” one fan wrote, while another said, “Ohhh Rachel. I feel this so deeply. My 46-year-old body just isn’t what it used to be…but I don’t treat her like she’s separate from me anymore.”
Platten also shared a private message to her Instagram stories from someone who thought about how “dad” is considered attractive — but “mom” needs to be corrected.

“Fathers hadn’t yet stretched, grown and had a baby, dad was accepted and trendy, holy bananas.” I’ve never seen one thing about how sexy “mom bod” is and I thought things were really the other way around since they were the ones who raised the child prodigy.”
“This this this,” commented Platten, who added, “Who’s going to help us make mom a thing?!!!”
