Radhika Khanna is an Indian-American entrepreneur, fashion designer and author best known for being the sister of Michelin-starred Indian chef Vikas Khanna. She is also famous for designing costumes for many American television shows including Kitchen Nightmares.

Radhika Khanna started working at a very young age. She began working part-time at different restaurants in Manhattan while studying full-time at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She does this job to cover her personal expenses and educational expenses. Shortly after graduating with a degree in fashion, she interned under American fashion designer and founder of DKNY clothing brand Donna Karan. Radhika Khanna founded her own fashion line “Estilo Inc” in 2005. After being recognized by the designer, she also got the opportunity to design costumes for the American reality TV show “Kitchen Nightmares”. In addition to being a fashion designer, she is also an author. She has written several books on yoga. Her first book was titled “Pose: Yoga for Professionals.” Some of her other books include Yoga: From the Ganges to Wall Street and Outstanding: Yoga and Self-Defense: The Girl’s Complete Guide to Confidence. She was inspired to write this book after becoming a yoga practitioner herself and learning about the health benefits of yoga. She started practicing yoga after being diagnosed with lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus), an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue in many parts of the body. She also suffers from atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and yoga helps her fight these illnesses with great spirit and energy. Radhika Khanna wrote this book to promote yoga and create awareness about it.

On February 28, 2022, Radhika’s brother Vikas Khanna shared the news of her death through a social media post. The cause of her death was found to be multiple organ failure, which was the ultimate cause of her long-term suffering from lupus, renal failure, atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and other diseases. Vikas posted a picture with his sister on Instagram and shared the tragic news with his fans and followers. He captioned the photo:
My soulmate left me today. March 23, 1974 to February 28, 2022. She fought lupus, aHUS, kidney failure for years like a champ. But today, my best friend passed away in my arms from multiple organ failure. Love you always Radha. rest in peace”
Additionally, he posted a compilation video on his Instagram account, sharing some of his best memories with his sister. He wrote with a heavy heart:
Even in her semi-conscious state, she kept telling doctors that she wanted to get home as soon as possible and protect Vrykul. #MyRadha #SistersAreBlessing. “
Kapil Sharma, Vineet Bhatia, Shabana Azmi, Neena Gupta and Ahana Koum Many Indian celebrities, including Aahana Kumra, commented on the chef’s Instagram post to express their respect and condolences to Vikas and his family. Vineet Bhatia wrote,
The pain of losing a loved one is unparalleled. Her wonderful memories will live on forever and she will still continue to protect you from heaven. Stay strong, Om Shanti. “
