Rajit Kapoor is a veteran Indian film, theater and television actor. He is best known for playing the lead role in DD National’s TV series “Byomkesh Bakshi” (1993).

When he was six years old, he appeared in DD National’s TV series “Khel Khilone”. While in college, he appeared in many plays. He started his career as a theater actor and has appeared in many theater productions such as “Love Letters”, “Class of 84”, “Sir Rallings”, “Are There Tigers in the Congo?” ” ‘gentlemen. Bellam, Six Degrees of Separation and Pune Expressway. He also directed and produced many popular theater productions.
In 1986, he appeared in the TV series Ghar Jamai; broadcast on DD National. In 1993, he was roped in to star in the popular TV series “Byomkesh Bakshi” which aired on DD National. He plays the lead role in this TV series. In 1997, he appeared in the sequel of “Byomkesh Bakshi”.
He made his acting debut in the 1992 Bollywood film Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda directed by Shyam Benegal.
He is best known for his role as ‘Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’ in the Bollywood film Mahatma (1996). His performance in this film was appreciated by critics and audiences.
He has acted in several regional films, including the Marathi film “Limited Manuski” (1995), the Malayalam film “Agnisakshi” (1999) and the Bengali film “Abaidha” (2002).
Later, he acted in Bollywood films such as “Pakistan Train” (1998), “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero” (2005), “Guzaarish (2010), Raazi (2018) and Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).
He has appeared in several web series including Bang Baaja Baaraat (2015), TVF Tripling Season 2 (2019) and Bard of Blood (2019).
