Raju Pal is an Indian politician. In 2004, he became a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on the BSP ticket. In 2005, he was shot dead in Sulam Sarai area of Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in Uttar Pradesh.

Raju Pal entered politics in 2002, contesting the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections on the ticket of the BSP. He lost his seat to gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed. In November 2004, Raju won a by-election, defeating Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf Khalid Azim, who represented Allahaba from the Samajwadi Party (SP) Desi constituency.

Raju Pal finally posed a threat to the political careers of Ashraf and Atiq Ahmed when he defeated Ashraf in the 2004 by-elections. Political competition somehow turned into personal competition. On January 25, 2005, Raju Pal was returning home from Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Allahabad when a car overtook his Qualis car. Raju was attacked by a group of gangsters in Sulem Sarai area. According to sources, he received around 18 bullets and two people with him, Sandeep Yadav and Devi Lal, were also shot dead. The attackers opened fire on another car belonging to Raju Pal, injuring three others, namely Ruksana, Saif alias Saifulla )) and Om Prakash Pal. The murder drew national attention, and Atik was accused of being the mastermind.

According to sources, Raju was attacked by Atiq Ahmed’s goons. The attackers reportedly hurled crude bombs at Umesh Pal and his two gunmen.
