Raja Kolandar- Cannibal
During his childhood, Ram Niranjan was not very bright and did not go to school. His family often laughed at him and compared him to other children. This left a profound impact on him. As a teenager, he became violent and once killed a man for not giving him a ride. In 2001, the chief correspondent and reporter of the Hindi newspaper Aaj disappeared from Allahabad. His family filed a missing complaint with the nearby police station. Since the reporter was well-known in the town, local police immediately began a search. During the initial investigation, police noticed that about 20 other people had gone missing from the town over a period of several months. However, police were unable to detect any similarities between the disappearances. They then traced Dhirendra’s call details. The last number he called and received was a landline number. A picture of a woman named Phoolan Devi but when she was asked about the call she denied making the call. Local police later questioned her family about the call, after which her husband Niranjan said he called Dhirendra for some work. The local police did not find any clues from the call details and decided to investigate the case from another angle. They began studying the 20 disappearances to find connections between them. The missing locals include Kaali Charan Srivastav (security guard), Ashok (driver), Santosh (cleaner) and Mueen (hypnosis expert). However, the local police investigated all missing cases and could not find any clues. The only conclusion they came to was that the information about all the missing persons was widely known in the village. Later, one thing that impressed the local police was that the last call to Dhirendra was at 12:15 pm as people of the village used to sleep between 9 and 10 pm. The local police then decided to question Niranjan and Puran Devi again, but this time about their background details. Subsequently, the local police rushed to Niranjan’s home to investigate. His wife and son are clean. Subsequently, the local police began interrogating Niranjan. At first he tried to fool them, but after asking a series of questions he said:
I need to eat some dal before talking. Instead of eating a bowl of dal, I would eat a pot of dal. I’ll tell you something, but don’t arrest me. “
After eating dal, he escorted local police to a room at his farm in Pipri in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district. When they reached the front of the room, Niranjan began his story by saying:
This room and the farm belong to Raja Kolandar, he is the most intelligent man and it is difficult for anyone to find him. Here he organizes his Adala and punishes people. “
He then retrieved a severed head from a bag near the room. The local police were stunned to see this and within seconds, Niranjan pulled out another severed head. Niranjan said the first one was Srivastav Ji (Kalicharan Srivastav) and the other one was Mueen Bhai. Pointing to a tree on the farm, he said the cruel king had tied the other skulls to that tree. When he was asked about reporter Dhirendra, he said:
The Raja cut his body into pieces and disposed of it. “
The local police then asked him who Raja Kolandhar was and where he was. Niranjan then started making up stories, but when he was questioned strictly, he told the truth. When the local police learned the truth, they were shocked to discover that Raja Kolandar was his brainchild. He used to consider himself a Raja, so he kept his name as Raja Kolandar. He later shared how he killed journalist Dhirendra,
On December 14, 2000, I called Dhirendra to my farm to give him some important information and while he was sitting near the campfire, my brother-in-law Vaksharaj shot him with a desi pistol and we beheaded him and disposed of him Other parts of his body were located in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. I suspected Dhirendra knew everything about me and would expose me, so I killed him. We kept his Tata Sumo. “
modus operandi
As an ordinary child, Niranjan was often compared with other children by his parents, which left a big impact on his brain. When he grew up, he began to look for people in the village who were known to be smart. He often beheaded these people and disposed of their remaining parts. He then removed the victim’s brain, cooked it in soup and drank it. He believes it helps sharpen his brain. Additionally, he painted the skull in different colors and wrote the caste/religion of the person on the skull and tied it to a tree. He once killed a Kayasa simply because he believed the Kayasa were smart.
secret diary
Local police later discovered a diary in his room. In the diary, he filled 14 pages, and on each page, he wrote the victim’s name, religion/caste with a cross. Kalicharan Srivastav is written on the first page of the diary and Dhirendra’s name is written on the last page. Niranjan later admitted that he had killed about 30 people from 1992 to 2000.
of court case judgment
Regarding Niranjan’s arrest, his wife said she had thought he had some mental problems but that he could not kill. Niranjan was even tested by a psychiatrist but reportedly did not have any psychological issues. According to media sources,
The illiterate Ram Niranjan was always ruthless. He used to find relief by hurting others. This nature of his thrusts him into Grimm’s world. Kolandhar of Coal Brotherhood created panic in Shankargarh. No matter who he looked at, the fear of death began to haunt him. With the power of this fear, he received the title of Raja from the Brotherhood. He used to bleed children he played sports with. As he grew older, madness took over his mind. People who knew Korandal said he loved to drink the fresh blood of goats. He often hosted meat feasts with friends at his farmhouse. At the same time, the illiterate Korandal learned somewhere that eating brains sent by humans would make them sharper, so he began to thirst for human blood. After killing the people, the male vampire Korandal took out their sentries and started eating them. Korandhar is also very fond of clothes. Whenever he goes out somewhere, he wears boots and sunglasses. “
Charges were brought against him in 2001 and due to lack of evidence it took nearly 11 years for Niranjan and his brother-in-law (his alliance) to be sent to jail. They were each fined Rs 10,000 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
