Ramesh Babu is an Indian film producer and former actor. He is the eldest brother of famous South Indian actor Mahesh Babu. Ramesh passed away on January 8, 2022 due to liver-related diseases.

In 1974, he made his debut as a child actor in the Telugu film “Alluri Seetarama Telugu”, playing the role of young Alluri Seetaramaju.
He then acted in the Telugu films “Dongalaku Donga” (1977), “Manushulu Chesina Dongalu” (1977) and “Annadammula Saval” (1978). At the age of 14, Ramesh starred in the Telugu film Needa along with his brother Mahesh.

He breathed his last on January 8, 2022, at AIG Hospital, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He had long suffered from liver-related ailments. Ramesh Babu’s film production company ‘GMB Entertainment’ confirmed the news of his death via Twitter. The tweet read,
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Ghatmaneni Ramesh Babu Garu. He will always live in our hearts. In view of the current situation, we request all well-wishers to adhere to Covid-19 norms and avoid gathering at the crematorium. “
Many South Indian celebrities expressed grief over his death. Veteran South Indian actor Chiranjeevi tweeted,
My heartfelt condolences to Shri Krishna garu, @urstrulyMahesh and all the family. May Almighty God give this family the strength to cope with this tragic loss. “
