Ranu Sahu was born on Tuesday, September 4, 1984 (age 38 years; as of 2022) in Panduka village, Chhura tehsil, Raipur district, Chhattisgarh state, India. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. Arrests related to coal scam
On the evening of July 21, 2023, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials arrested IAS officer Ranu Sahu, who serves as Director, Agriculture Department, Chhattisgarh, in connection with the 2022 coal tax case. Her lawyer Faizal Rizvi said that between October 2022 and January 2023, she was summoned for questioning multiple times and cooperated with the ED in these cases; however, after January 2023, she was not educated again Subpoena.
He claimed her arrest was politically motivated and that the grounds for her arrest were fictitious. ED counsel Saurabh Pandey confirmed the arrest and informed that Sahu was produced before a Raipur court where she was remanded in three-day custody till July 24, 2023. ED further claimed that Sahu was in touch with Suryakant Tiwari through his relatives during his tenure as Collector in Korba and Raigarh districts. She was on leave in October 2022 when the ED raided her office in Raigarh, which was subsequently sealed.
After returning from leave, she claimed her phone had been stolen and the ED noted that her phone had been switched off around the same time the ED arrived to conduct the raid. The ED claimed that Sahu was knowingly and willingly involved in the coal tax case and had lied during interrogation. They also temporarily attached Sahu’s properties worth Rs 552 crore, accusing her of being involved in receiving kickbacks from other accused in the coal tax case; however, her lawyer maintained that she was unable to provide satisfactory evidence to the ED when faced with documentary evidence. reply.
