Rapper Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Reportedly in Hospital for Bleeding Artery in Lung

Anthony Henderson, aka Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, is reportedly in the hospital, the rap group’s manager Bobby Dee confirmed to Los Angeles Times on Monday.

Dee did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

According to the paper, Dee did not state why the 50-year-old rapper was hospitalized. However, AllHipHop reported on Sunday that Krayzie Bone checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital on Friday after he started coughing up blood.

Doctors reportedly discovered a bleeding artery in one of his lungs in the musician’s CAT scan. As a result, he underwent immediate surgery and has been placed on a ventilator since Sunday, according to AllHipHop.

TMZ reported Monday that Krayzie Bone was placed in an induced coma to “help [with] healing process,” since the artery is still bleeding.

Sources also reportedly said the Cleveland native’s medical team plans to undergo another surgery to repair the blood vessel.

In 2016, Krayzie Bone told TMZ he was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, which is characterized by the growth of inflammatory cells known as granulomas that are usually found in the lungs and lymph nodes, but can be found anywhere in the body, according to the Mayo Clinic.

It is not clear if Krayzie Bone’s recent hospitalization is related to his condition.

According to LA TimesTMZ and AllHipHop, the rapper’s Bone Thugs-N-Harmony bandmate Bizzy Bone wrote on his Instagram Story on Sunday, “Pray 4 Kray.”

LeBron James from Ohio expressed his support and wishes for the rapper’s recovery, “🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽krayzie the man!!!!” he wrote on X on Sunday.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony — consisting of members Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone and Flesh-n-Bone — was formed in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fivesome is considered one of the greatest hip-hop/rap groups of all time with the hits “Thuggish Ruggish Bone”, “1st of tha Month” and “East 1999”.

The Grammy-winning group is the only rap group to have collaborated with Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Big Pun and Eazy-E before their deaths.

Krayzie Bone also pursued a solo career in the late 90s with the release of his debut studio album Bandit mentality in 1999. The project was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
