Zee Business Editor Samir Ahluwalia has taken legal action and filed a criminal defamation case against Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), Ratan Jindal, Naveen Jindal and 13 others. The case is related to the Coalgate scam involving Naveen Jindal and JSPL. The defamation charges are based on harmful statements against Sudhir Chaudhary in the First Information Report and false statements made by Naveen Jindal at a press conference on October 25, 2012. Zee News employees argued that they were unfairly implicated in cases related to the Coalgate scam revelations. Involving a person named in a criminal libel case.
