Ray Donovan Spinoff Is Heading to Paramount+ 4 Years After the Original Series Wrapped

AND Ray Donovan spinoff series heading to Paramount+.

The Donovans will succeed the popular Showtime drama series. All 10 episodes will premiere later this year on Paramount+ for subscribers who have the Paramount+ with Showtime package.

“With the most powerful clients in Europe, The Donovans will see family wealth and reputation in danger, unusual alliances and betrayal around every corner; and while the family might be London’s most elite fixers today, the nature of their job means there’s no guarantee what tomorrow holds,” reads the series’ official synopsis.

Ray Donovan concluded in January 2020 after seven seasons. The series premiered in in 2013 and was canceled in February after the season seven finale. Liev Schreiber starred in the series as the main character. He later starred in and co-wrote the 2022 feature film Ray Donovan: The Movie.

Guy Ritchie is at the head of the project, director and executive producer. The series was written and produced by screenwriter and novelist Ronan Bennett.

“We’re going to deliver a show that will give audiences around the world huge thrills, fun and a big adrenaline rush,” said Bennett, 68. “At the same time, I’m completely focused on exploring real characters, in body and soul, and I’m committed to writing stories with with a deep dramatic impression.”

The writer continued: “We will get under the skin of the criminal underworld, in a way that will show you to the bone the truth about how they live and how it will sometimes – inevitably – affect our lives.”

With Richie and Bennett, The Donovans Executive producers will be Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin and Ivan Atkinson. The series comes from Paramount+, Showtime / MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

The original series was created by Ann Biderman and centers on a fixer whose relationship with his family is complicated. Schreiber earned three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series during Ray Donovanis running.
