Karen Huger has been charged with DUI and DWI after a car accident in Maryland.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, The Real Housewives of Potomac star, 60, was driving her 2017 Maserati when she was pulled over by the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland on Tuesday at 11:50 p.m. She was officially charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol. She has a mandatory court appearance.
PEOPLE has reached out to Huger’s rep for comment.
The reality star and entrepreneur is also facing charges for careless and careless driving of a vehicle endangering property, life and person, as well as negligent driving of a vehicle with reckless and deliberate disregard for the safety of persons and property.

Other charges include failure to control the speed of a vehicle on a highway to avoid a collision, driving a vehicle in excess of a reasonable and prudent highway speed, driving a vehicle on a highway with a suspended registration and failure to notify management of a change of address within 30 days.
Bravo and the Montgomery County Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
A Montgomery County police spokesman previously confirmed to PEOPLE the single-vehicle crash.
Police said the television personality crossed the median and struck multiple street signs, but was uninjured at the time of the crash.
Authorities also reportedly told TMZ, which first reported the news, that Huger was allegedly driving in an “aggressive manner” and very fast before the crash.

She was not arrested after the accident, but received several criminal charges
Huger, who recently filmed the eighth season reunion of the Bravo series with her RHOP costars, broke her silence on the incident in a statement to TMZ.
She began, “Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I am still in shock from last night’s incident, but I am grateful to be alive today. With the passing of my beloved Mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with the approaching Mother’s Day looks more and more like a tsunami.”
Huger, whose parents died seven months apart in 2017, added: “I met my girlfriend for dinner last night and we talked and brought up some very emotional topics. I was crying on the way home and I saw a car going right for me. I swerved to avoid a head-on collision, hit a divider and then a tree. I’m hurt, a little bruised, but so thankful to be alive! I got citations, one of which was unrelated to the incident which is understandable, but what surprised me the most was that the car that almost hit me just drove away!”
She concluded by reminding fans to “underestimate your emotional state” before getting behind the wheel, crediting her mother, whom she called her “guardian angel,” and her seat belt for saving her life.
