In case you cannot find Realtek HD Audio Manager in Control Panel, please follow the instructions below:
- Go to the C drive of your device, open Program Files, click on Realtek, and then open the Audio folder
- In the HDA folder, double-click RtkNGUI64.exe to open the Realktek HD Audio Manager.
If you still can’t find the Realtek HD Audio Manager, you may need to reinstall it after updating the Realtek HD Audio Driver.
Reinstall Realtek HD Audio Manager
To reinstall Realtek HD Audio Manager, you will first need to update your audio drivers, but first uninstall the outdated ones.

Start by uninstalling all existing drivers to avoid downloading duplicate drivers by following the instructions below:
- Press the Start menu button and go to Device Manager.
- There you will see a list and you need to expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Look for the Realtek High Definition Audio driver.
- Right click on it and select ‘Uninstall’ from the drop down menu.
- Check the “Delete the driver for this device” option and click “Uninstall”.
- Open the Views tab and click ‘Show hidden devices’ from the drop down menu.
- Now check for duplicate drivers. If yes, then right-click on it and hit the Uninstall button. After that, reboot the system.
Download and reinstall Realtek HD Audio Manager
After the uninstall, you can now update your audio drivers, follow these instructions:
- Go to the Realtek website in your browser.
- Find the appropriate drivers for your device and download them manually. After you download the file, you can run it and follow the instructions to install the update.
Troubleshooting Realtek HD Audio Manager
Even after updating the Realtek HD Audio driver, if the problem persists, you can follow the troubleshooting tips provided:
- Disable the Microsoft UAA bus driver
- Go to Device Manager and expand System Devices.
- Search for the Microsoft UAA bus driver for HD audio.
- Right click on it and click ‘Disable’ from the drop down menu.
- Go to ‘Windows Settings’ and then click on ‘Apps and features’.
- Click ‘Realtek High Definition Audio Driver’ and then click ‘Uninstall Driver’.
- Then go to Device Manager and right click on the disabled driver.
- In the dropdown menu, click ‘Uninstall’.
- You can now reinstall the Realtek HD audio driver.
- Open the Task Manager using the ‘Start’ menu.
- Next, go to the Home tab and search for Realtek HD Audio Manager.
- If the status shows as ‘Disabled’, right click on it and click Enable from the drop down menu, then reboot.
- Go to Device Manager and click (+) to expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click Realtek High Definition Audio and click Update Driver in the menu.
- If you have the latest driver configuration file on your system, select ‘Browse my computer’ under Driver Software.
- Click the ‘Let me choose from a list of available drivers on my computer’ option.
- Find the latest driver by date, then click ‘Next’ to update.
- Go to Device Manager and click (+) to expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Click the ‘Action’ tab, find and click ‘Add Legacy Hardware’ in the menu.
- Click ‘Next’ and select the radio button that says ‘Automatically search for and install hardware’.
- Click Next, and then reinstall the driver.
