Rebel Wilson is ready to tell the stories behind some of her most famous moments.
The 43-year-old actress reflected on the process of writing her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising, in a video posted to Instagram on Saturday. After admitting she’s been “feeling a little down lately” and appreciating the supportive comments from her fans, she shared some of the secrets she plans to reveal in her book.
“I thought a lot about my book, Rebel Risingbecause I recorded an audiobook for it,” she said.
The memoir, due out on April 2, will feature stories that her fans “might find interesting,” she said while teasing one theme in particular that the book will expand on.
Her “Pitch Perfect stories” will be the highlight of the memoir, as Wilson said she will share the story behind her character Fat Amy’s infamous scene in the Pitch Perfect 2 where he accidentally reveals everything – literally – to a crowd that includes Barack and Michelle Obama.

The actress added: “By the way, I trained for five weeks to do that stunt routine. It was pretty impressive.”

It’s in October Senior year the star told PEOPLE that she “underestimated how much work” it was to write a book about her life.
“I think the first few chapters were really s—,” she said. “Then the editor said, ‘This just doesn’t sound like you.’ What I started doing was just sitting there by myself like I was just telling a story to a friend. I’ve just kind of found my writing style — it’s like I’m sitting across from my friend and telling you all the deepest secrets of my life, which is kind of scary.”
Although she admitted that the candid nature of the memoir can be “very uncomfortable,” Wilson said she thought to herself, “If I’m doing it, I’m doing it completely.”
