In a lovely new piece of fan art, Cassandra Kane’s Red Hood and Batgirl stick together high above the Gotham City skyline. Artist Nina Linovna captures two of the most ferocious members of the Bat family during downtime, telling the story of an uncharted relationship in the official comics.
Cassandra Cain is the daughter of Lady Shiva, trained from birth to be the ultimate assassin. After breaking up with her father, assassin David Kane, Cassandra Kane arrives in Gotham City in the “No Man’s Land” storyline, eventually taking the name Batgirl and becoming the first person to have her own title of Batgirl. DC’s new 52 era year until limitless border, return completely to the Bat family and share adventures with the Batgirls Stephanie Brown and Barbara Gordon. Cassandra has been alone for most of her career, like her Bat family member, Red Hood. The second Robin, Red Hood, worked as an outlaw for years after returning from the dead, and it wasn’t until last year that he really found his way back with Batman’s backing. No context is provided or necessary for what they might be thinking – it’s just a cute moment between friends. The photo was enthusiastically responded by fans, earning more than 8,000 likes; Some comments complimented the composition of the photo. Fans point out that despite their similarities, Cassandra Kane and Red Hood rarely see each other, which makes seeing them bonded together especially touching.
So far, Red Hood and Cassandra Kane have rarely interacted with each other, which is odd considering how much they have in common.
