Renée Rapp Jokes She ‘Fell Before I Was Drunk’ After Tripping on N.Y.C. Sidewalk as She Turns 24

Come in loser, we’re falling!

Renée Rapp was snapped in New York on Wednesday – on her 24th birthday! — after appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbertwhere she promoted her new music film Mean girls.

In one photo, the actress and singer – who was holding a bottle of Veuve Clicquot in one hand – threw herself onto the pavement before several people quickly helped her to her feet.

Rapp later poked fun on Instagram, posting a photo of herself running unmistakably in pantyhose with a skinned knee. As she sat in the vehicle, she appeared to be drinking straight from a bottle of champagne.

“I fell before I was drunk happy birthday,” she captioned the post, prompting her movie mom Busy Philipps to reply: “You really are my baby. Happy birthday bb.”

Mean girls New York premieres: see all the stars on the red carpet

In addition to Fey, 53, and Meadows, 62, other members of the original cast are celebrating the release of the new film. Some of them – including Lindsay Lohan – even attended the film’s premiere on Monday night.

Lohan, who originated the lead role of Cady, looked totally wacky in a long-sleeve black Alexandre Vauthier gown that featured a beautiful neckline embellished with silver crystals.

Other North Shore High students attending the red carpet included Daniel Franzese, who played Damian two decades ago, and Rajiv Surendra, who wore a Mathletes Letterman jacket as a nod to his character Kevin G, played by Mahi Alam in the new version.

Franzese, 45, told PEOPLE at the New York premiere that “we all want” to make a sequel. He added of his former colleagues: “We all talk when we can. It’s very difficult. We’ve all been really busy, but I love them too.”

Mean girls is in theaters on Friday.
