Rewati Chetri was born on Sunday, July 4, 1993 (age 30; as of 2023) in Haflong town, Assam state, India. She received her primary and secondary education from St. Agnes Convent High School, Haflong, Assam. Later, she continued her higher education at Lumdin College, Lumdin, Assam. Rewati received her Bachelor of Laws degree from NEF Law School, Guwahati, Assam. Rewati Chetri participated in the Miss India 2015 beauty pageant in 2015 at the East India auditions. Her confidence and modeling skills helped her make it to the top five finalists of Miss India Kolkata. Later, she successfully made it to the top ten finals in the Miss India 2015 beauty pageant, but failed to make it to the subsequent competitions. During this pageant journey, she won the titles of “Miss Popular” and “Miss Multimedia”.
In 2016, Rewati Chetri won the Miss Asia crown at the Miss University World beauty pageant held in Beijing. She placed among the top six finalists in an online voting process. She also won the title of “Miss Multimedia” due to her strong presence on social media. In the same year, she also represented India in the 56th Miss International beauty pageant held in Tokyo, Japan. In an interview, she was asked about her social media charisma that has earned her captions in various beauty pageants, to which she replied:
This is my third beauty pageant and I have been selected as “Miss Multimedia and Miss Popular” based on my popularity in social responsibility and all thanks to my fellow Indians back home who have always contributed to my Pray for success and bless me and the shares with likes and comments. “

After achieving success in beauty pageants, Miss India International 2016 chose to pursue a career in modeling. She made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter 2018 held from August 22 to 26 at the St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai. Since then, she has walked for well-known Indian designers such as Tarun Tahiliani and Ritu Beri. Rohit Bal, Ritu Kumar and Falguni Sean Peacock. In a very short span of time, Chetri was considered one of the most successful models in the glamor industry. During a media interaction, when asked about her idols in the modeling industry, she replied:
Excellent! I don’t actually look up to anyone when it comes to modeling. There are many very talented models in India and overseas. I always try to admire the best in all of them and it will help me tremendously in my career. “

Rewati Chetri made her debut in 2016 with a music video directed by Deepak Dey for Suresh Shama’s album ‘Tumi Mur’, produced by Dream House Production with music composed by ‘Bulbul and Rosty’. Next, in 2017, she was announced to star in the Nepali film Summer Love directed by Subin Bhattarai. This Nepali film was adapted from Subin Bhattarai’s best-selling novel “Summer Love” and was released in 2019. Later, she starred in the film Gangs of Northeast India, which was set in Northeast India. The film was released in three languages: Hindi, Assamese and Khasi for a national release. Miss India International 2016 appeared on the television screens in Zing’s TV series “Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya”. She got the opportunity to share the screen with leading television actors like Surbhi Jyoti, Parth Samthaan and Meiyang Chang.

Rewati Chetri devotes a lot of her time to social welfare. She is associated with many non-profit organizations. In 2016, she participated in a candlelight march demanding justice for a brutally beaten rape victim who was found dead near the Dishing river in Guwahati, Assam. More than 200 people, including many Bollywood celebrities, took to the streets to demand justice for the victims and their families. The incident shocked the entire Assam, compared to the previous Nirbhaya incident in New Delhi. She promised to support the victim’s family.

Reports collected by the Miss India Organization (Femina Miss India Internet Organizer) show that I am the most followed, liked, shared, downloaded and talked about among the Miss India finalists and my Facebook engagement is twice that of my most recent entry By. Each of my Facebook posts is viewed by over 5,000 accounts, up to over 55,000 accounts. Among the 21 contestants, I received the highest number of votes (more than 70% of the total votes) through the WeChat app, which the Miss India organization said was in the lakhs.
